64-bit - not enough physical memory

Hallo
Folgendes Problem:
Ich habe 64bit Prozessor Server von IBM mit 8 GB ausgerüstet Windows 2003
Ent 64bit (SP2) mit Virtual Server 2005 SP1 64bit.
Sobald ich mehr als 6 GB für meine Virtual Machines (gesamthaft) brauche,
heisst es:

Hallo Andreas,

d.h. als Available RAM wird z.B. noch 2,5 GB angezeigt (Taskmgr) und Du
möchtest eine VM mit 512 MB RAM starten. Dies schlägt fehl mit der unteren
Fehlermeldung?

Hbae nur 7GB, nicht 8 GB. Sorry. Aber ja, richtig.
Der Taskmgr zeigt noch 1,5 GB frei noch an,
Obwohl Virtual Server folgendes sagt:
Memory
Total physical memory: 7168 MB
Available physical memory: 1171 MB
Aber wenn ich jetzt genau eine VM mit 1000MG starte, kommt die Meldung, dass
es nicht starten kann. Aber bei 512 MB nicht....

Hallo Andreas,

wenn im Taskmgr noch 1171 MB Available physical memory angezeigt werden,
dann ist dass deutlich zu wenig für eine VM mit 1000MB. Der Grund ist, dass
das Betriebssystem auch noch Speicher benötigt. Virtual Server "lässt" dem
Betriebssystem ca. 760MB (die genaue Zahl habe ich jetzt nicht im Kopf)
übrig.
